    About Us

We began our work as “Our House”, a drop-in center in the City of Chula Vista where teens struggling with drug abuse could go for counseling and rehabilitation. As we worked closely with each youth, we learned that many of these teens were coming from homes with domestic violence issues, economic struggles or other stressors that were impacting every essence of their lives.

Out of this need, South Bay Community Services (SBCS) was born and has since grown into one of the largest multi-social service agency in San Diego County. Today, there are close to 500 on staff stationed throughout the region including schools, police department, family resource centers and affordable housing locations – including our main location in the heart of the City of Chula Vista.

While the times have changed and services have evolved, our mission has always remained the same: to restore hope and provide support for people to create the best life they can for themselves.
