National City Chamber Honors Hometown Heroes During Covid-19
Centurion Awards to Celebrate Distinguished Public Safety Personnel, Educators, and Healthcare Professionals
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(National City, CA, Thursday, September 24, 2020) - The National City Chamber of Commerce along with event Title Sponsor AMR, are proud to host the annual Centurion Awards on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 10 am to 11 am, virtually on zoom. We will honor professionals from the National School District, Sweetwater High School, National City Fire Department, National City Police Department, Southwestern College, and San Ysidro Health. Additional support is provided by Gold Sponsor AARP, and Silver Sponsor, Tony McCune.
The Centurion Award aims to highlight “Hometown Heroes” who have meaningfully contributed to the forming, maturing, and ongoing organizational excellence of their profession, and who, in doing so, have inspired others to follow in their footsteps. Centurion Award honorees serve as exemplars of leadership, modeling to others a commitment to public service for the greater good.
“The National City Chamber takes great pride in recognizing our community’s hard working professionals; They contribute to our sense of safety, enlightenment, and community resiliency,” shares Jacqueline Reynoso, President and CEO of the 500-member business association. This year’s award recipients include St. Florian of the Year, captain Scott Robinson from the National City Fire Department; Officer Salvador Gil from the National City Police Department; Dr. Nicole Kranzberg from Sweetwater High School; Norma Victorio, Teacher from Rancho De La Nacion Elementary School; Dr. David Kretchmar, Professor at Southwestern College; Nurse of the Year, Cris Escarrilla from San Ysidro Health.
Our 2020 honorees will each receive special certificates of recognition from the office of Congressman Juan Vargas, State Senator Benjamin Hueso, Assembly Member Shirley Weber, Assembly Member Lorena Gonzalez - Fletcher, Supervisor Greg Cox, District Attorney Stephan, and National City’s Mayor and Council. In addition, all honorees will receive an honorary plaque from the National City Chamber of Commerce and gifts donated by chamber members.
